With the band

how to style a band tshirt

I do love a good band tee. I've got quite a collection in my wardrobe, each with their own memories and sentiments stitched into the seams, infused in each cotton fibre. Some I wear quite regularly, because they're easy to style or make a great statement piece, others get relegated to the pj drawer because they're the definition of impulse buy or being caught up in the moment and they just don't fit quite right and the design isn't something I'd wear past the front door.

Regardless, I do find them a lil' bit of a wardrobe staple for me now, and some of my favourite street style looks that my fave street style photographers have taken feature the humble band tee.

bomber jacket: taobao
band tee: one ok rock
leggings: primark
shoes: new look

If you follow my instagram, then no doubt you've seen this tee before. It's one of the two designs One Ok Rock had on sale for their world tour last year and I'm all sorts of still in love with it. The galaxy pattern with the name of the album overlayed makes it really wearable, not too in your face, and although I've just thrown it over cosy Primark leggings here (cough cough I'm sick), it looks really cool tucked into jeans or shorts. I even think it would be quite a nice way to dress down cigarette pants too.

To make it look less like I'm knocking on death's door (slight exaggeration), and if I was going outside (I'm not), I chucked on my bomber jacket from Taobao, since it's such an easy way to bring any outfit into the new season, as well as slipping into my New Look trainers that are fab dupes for the Adidas one's I still can't justify, I'm not much of a sports luxe gal - LJ does that so much better  - but I feel I've had a good stab at that aesthetic.

Hopefully I'll be able to get outside a bit more for outfit posts now the weather is giving us more good days than bad... although bad is still snow. Come on mate it's March

Let me know what you think of this outfit! I'm going to snuggle back into my blankets and hope that my laryngitis clears before Monday. I'm so busy next week with society stuff that I don't actually know how I'm going to cope.

  3. Hey :) Really liked this post, you inspire me to try out doing fashion/outfit posts myself. Do you take the pictures yourself (put the camera on timer or something), or do you have someone who helps you take them?
